HIYA!
Boy where do I start? I'll just say that life is still good here. Getting better and better all the time. I've got lots of topics lined up that I'll write about. Hard, really, to write in topics. "Topics" are so interrelated that it's hard to say something that isn't "off the topic".
Just a few general things here then off to a "topic". Maybe in the future I'll write one topic, but in segments. Divide whatever I want to say in more than one entry. Probably not now though.
Weather's getting colder though I usually only feel it early in the morning and at night. The days are nice. Warm, not hot. Nice. Still love hot weather though!
Sent off for a winter jacket yesterday from eBay. Waterproof, windproof, "breatheable", yet cheap, real cheap at only $45. I believe it's a good jacket though. New, even! How in hell can anyone sell such a good quality, new jacket, so cheap? I realize that not having a store helps a lot. But still.... A friend took me around to some stores here in Jeju City some weeks ago. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Even the cheapest. (Listening to Ella sing How High is the Moon?. What a treat!) I'm still wearing warm weather clothes now and won't need this jacket until later this month at the earliest. November I suppose I'll wear it often. And on into March of next year. I'll want some winter pants too which I'll get from eBay.
I haven't become a consumer, really. I mean, not in the sense of a "shopper". I keep my spending as frugal as always. And as ridiculous as always when it comes to food. Sometimes .... Ah. Frank Zappa wrote a song some years ago called The Torture Never Stops .... Yeah. I'm glad to not be a consumer. I havne't had to buy many things at all for this apartment. My boss gave me a shaver, a pot with a steamer, a telephone, and a few odds and ends. He just recently bought me some shoes too. $50 shoes. I haven't started to wear them yet though.
I was wearing some shoes that I got at a thrift shop years ago (for a dollar I think!) and actually are still in good shape except that the lining on the sole is coming off. So it flaps when I walk. I've been to a couple of shoe shops but don't really know what I want. I don't want to have three and four pairs of shoes. Don't want them. Then a couple of days ago when I got to work, my boss said, "Follow me." and we walked out of the school. Jokingly, I said, "Are you going to buy me some shoes?" Sure 'nuff. So now I have two pairs of shoes and some sandals that I got in Thailand. These'll last a long long time. I bought some socks here that go between your toes. Kind of neat. So they're the right style for the sandals I have. It's comfortable to walk this way. But this won't work in winter. Shoes, for sure.
Tell ya what. I'll stop here. In a minute I'll do a new entry. It'll be update #2.
